As some of you already know, I’ve been working on a PCB project for a while now. I’m now happy to announce my project, the Protean 8x2, will launch on Kickstarter tomorrow!:…

Please spread the word! I realize not many people here may be interested in this particular project, but the point is to get to those who may well be interested. :iconsmilingrarityplz:

So what is it? It’s affordable and Arduino programmable multichannel power control. After a long look at as many boards as I could find, none fit my criteria. They were over $100 with a fixed interface and protocol and required a separate controller. :O FETs were already included, which is nice, but that didn’t leave any freedom on how to configure it for different purposes or voltages. :hmm: These are the issues I have aimed to solve with the Protean 8x2! :D

What about plush?

Depending on the outcome of my project, I will be returning to plush, but not with commissions just yet, (as I think that’s what struck down a fair bit of my motivation). I want to work on different pattern first. :D

In other news, there are also greenhouses that need to be repaired, (among other things yet to be done). >_<

Unexpected Allies by briar-spark

(Featured because I like Chrysalis and have started a habit of featuring her in my updates. ^^)

Planned Plush:

  • 2+k watcher plush giveaway/contest! …Yes I still hope to do it, preferably before 3k watchers, but it’d be a biped. ^^
  • Near Life-size Pony
  • Microbe ponies! :dummy: … Maybe. Depends on my current project’s success.

Other To-Do List:

  • Get rid of some of my old junk!

Bucket List:

  • Have a garage to be used for its intended purpose. :iconapplejackreally:

Are you searching for truth?

My about page:

:iconcommissionsonhold:, but feel free to note me and I can add you to my list, however long it takes. :) Pony, anthro, or whatever, (though my next focus will probably be further developing my anthro pattern).
*If you are interested in an OC, know upfront that prices are typically 20-50% more due to development and varies by complexity.*

Notes about my plushies:
-Current List
-Pricing and Commission Details
-Mares are ~13.5" (~34.3 cm) tall from hoof bottom to top of head (excluding mane, etc).
-Fillies are ~11" (~28 cm) tall from hoof bottom to top of head (excluding mane, etc).
-I draft all my own patterns with Photoshop/paper towels and make embroidery files with SophieSew.
-I don’t share my patterns or embroidery files with anyone, but I do have tutorials for SophieSew and offer advice when I can, but try to figure things out on your own if you’re really interested. Bear in mind that no one told me how to do this, but the information was available. :)
-I do plan to distribute my patterns and embroidery files in the indefinite future.
-My plushies are made with minky fabric. Accessories may be either minky or ultra cuddle.
-Stuffed medium-firm
-I typically make two passes of hand sewing for manes and tails and three for non-swiveling heads for better durability. I have had experience with things coming undone on some pony plushies I’ve bought. It also happened to my earlier Bon Bon right before I shipped her, at which point I declared “that is unacceptable!” :stare: So I try to prevent that. :)
-Smoke free home!

And here’s some old-school DA information that I just left here:
Current Residence: The Republic of Texas (I can dream can't I?)
Favourite genre of music: Classic Rock, Big Band and Swing, Celtic, Soundtracks
Operating System: Windows 7
MP3 player of choice: One that takes a USB drive and has a line out. (A modified a Zone Electronics Portable Mini Speaker)
Shell of choice: An 80s 4U server case, not that I'm using that though, there aren't enough mounts for drives
Skin of choice: Windows Classic (Customized)
Favourite cartoon character: If I had to choose: 1 female, too many choices. 1 male, Odd Della Robbia (who is straight BTW)
Personal Quote: Don't just look at the shiny side of a dirty coin.

About two weeks left for the #Protean8x2 #Arduino optically isolated FET power control, 16-channels & RS485!…

Afterward, I hope to engage in an much easier to make LED Luna and will be sharing the process as a tutorial on Patreon#0! :D
Protean 8x2 posted on Reddit and Twitter. Any help in sharing will be greatly appreciated! :thanks: And feedback too. ^^
Protean 8x2 Kickstarter project is now live!…
If you'd like to make multichannel power control much more affordable for makers, then please back the project. If you know someone who's interested, please share and share abroad! :D
More bang for the non-bucks. ... That is to say, I noticed the galleries no longer have "deviations per page" limits. Before you needed premium to view up to 100 items per page rather than 25 (IIRC). Now it seems you can view as many as the gallery may contain. ... But to be honest, I hate the endless scrolling page syndrome. There's no reference point!

Say, I can't quite recall, perhaps I have someone else in mind, but do you have any interest in electronics as a hobby or otherwise? :-?

Hope you're doing well! :)

Sweetness! :iconrarityjoyplz:
I was honestly asking because I hope to launch a Arduino compatible, ATmega328P based FET power driver node, supporting all P, all N, or half P/N FETs, up to 16 isolated channels total, (inputs or outputs at the designers' discretion), interfaced with RS-485, (or SPI or I2C since headers are there). My inspiration being pinball driver nodes, (with shockingly higher prices than I would have expected, and not very well documented). ^^ I was wondering if you, or others you many know would be interested in such a thing, or at lest spreading the word about it. :)

Dude! How can you say the S4 finale was a letdown for you?! What about the song the princesses sung, and that epic fight scene?! The show hasn't had that much violence before or since!
adamlhumphreys Featured By Owner Edited Sep 26, 2016  Professional General Artist… (for context)

Well, not unlike the season 5 finale, and especially the season 3 finale, it was particularly the conclusion of the finales themselves that left notable disappointment for me. :iconfluttershyisshyplz: Twilight somehow becomes the "Princes of Friendship" alicorn with one mere implied pony year of having friends, achieving what was designated as her "destiny," surpassing all ponies in pony history and then in the next we get a crystal castle popping up in the middle of town founded by earth ponies, (though Twilight is from the royal city of Canterlot). The purpose behind these events have not so much as been mentioned and only subtly questioned in the storyline, being held solely by the hand of product endorsement. Yes, the entire show is meant to sell toys, but there's two different workflow models: Forwards, develop and write for a character or environment that will be developed into a toy form the show, (or better yet have both teams working together). Backwards, develop a toy and force it as a major change into the show without regard for story.

Had such things been done for shock value, then the logical course would be to determine the cause or purpose behind said event despite being after the fact. We had a story with the tale of Nightmare Moon being disregarded as an old mare's tale that actually held true. The idea that Twilight couldn't find anything but dead ends about the tree, (and apparently stopped looking), is suspect. Sure, it may be older than the sisters, but for something to have that much weight of force within their own world, (and not form outer space), to be virtually unknown without any previous or current study is all the more suspect. But none of this is the writer's fault, their hands were tied. But I think I would have to lay blame at their feet concerning the season 5 finale.

The last finale had great potential, but because so much emphasis was placed on the inevitable destruction of Equestria, (too many cameos), Starlight seemed evil to a fault, her actions understandably seen as unjustifiable, thus her sudden acceptance equally as uncompelling. Had the result form her actions seemed subtle in comparison to the troubles of her past, (elaborated, thus character development), or her past as weighty in comparison to her actions’ result, (perhaps a history of cutiemark discrimination), then her acceptance would’ve been pretty fulfilling IMHO.

Now, I realize it’s just a show, so I admit I’m a fair bit like season 1 and 2 Twilight Sparkle and Quibble Pants than Rainbow Dash in terms of what I value in the show. That said, the fight scene was neat, but I didn’t care much for the song as it seemed to push the idea that Princess Twilight had a destiny to achieve... again. So I’m not going to look forward to the upcoming finale with preconceived notions so I might be able to enjoy it fairly well. :D

Now as far as premiers go, heh, well, seasons 1 and 2 still hold top rank for me as well. :iconajawkwardsmileplz: But that would be quite interesting if this upcoming finale was much like that of the very first primer. :O
