Description
Obviously one of the joys of maintaining a greenhouse is watching nature take it’s course. But I didn’t have a clue that would also include animals, (including baby rabbits that I had to relocate to our woodpile).
I was first struck by a pile of sticks on a bucket, “Who put all those sticks there?” … “Wait, that’s a bird nest under construction!” So I saw it as a pile of sticks, a completed nest, then 1 egg per day till there were 4 eggs, then I saw some hatched and one egg left. I suspect the last egg hatched, but apparently one didn’t make it because there are only 3 babies present. So this is the status thus far. I also have some video I might eventually upload to my YouTube.
NOW, if you really want to see something that looks alien, you should see unborn snakes! Had I known what a rare occurrence it was to see snake eggs at all, I would’ve gotten photos of that as well. (The eggs were disturbed because dirt was dug up from a pile we had on our land.) The eggs looked like a network of flexible white vinyl balls.
