Hi! I'm sewing a sunset shimmer plush right now and am wondering if you have any advice for sewing the mane/tail? I'm having trouble getting nice clean edges where the colours meet and making things look.. flame like. thanks!

Well, it's kind of hard to put into words. Basically sew one edge at a time, and cut the fabric with the smaller angle after sewing an edge before sewing the next edge. :)

God I know someone who would absolutely drool over something like this. Two if you include me, but I haven't been a someone since 1993. But that's a different story.

Yes, I was referring to you, Fitz. And I've a feeling you're stalking me. I'm gonna bad mouth you somewhere and see how long it takes before you kill my family.

lol, not stalking at all. But if it's Spitfire, I've prolly found it and I visit my favorite pieces often, just because.
And your family is in danger whether you bad talk me or not.
Also, I ended up buying this cutie.
Gotta hand it to the fillies :D

Oh wow, that thing fucking rules.

Regardless, what you're telling me sounds like an alibi. I'll buy it, but don't press your luck. I'm watchin' you.

And I just sealed the deal to buy this gem thirty seconds before sending this comment :D
I'm too eccentric for my own good  But why the hell would I care when I JUST GOT A NEW JOB!!! (With a much higher salary)

And it does sound like an alibi, but it's legit. I'm all over Spitfire (pieces, that word seems important for the sake of context)

I want few things in this world. Among them is a 12'' Celestia plushie. Then my life will be complete. Good for you for rolling in the cash. I assume your new job is cooking and distributing meth?

Joey and I saw one at Bronycon, but she was going for over a grand. She was awesome but a grand was WAY outside of my margin at the time. Still is, actually.
And meth?! I have NO idea what that is! :iconlyingapplejackplz:

Try a double take but fake the size, enlarge it by making a imposed image of yourself small. From a distance it looks so.

I finally thought of a relevant question to ask you! I notice when you do manes you do not applique them together, they look sewn together in the more traditional sense. How do you deal with such complex curves when trying to match the two colors together in that way?

Heheh, with some difficulty and the seam ripper. :iconajawkwardsmileplz: But it's also dependent on which side of the seam you put your pins. But looking back, I could probably do Spitfire's mane and tail a little quicker than I did before. On the sharp corners though, I have to stop, cut the angled part, then continue to pin and sew the next segment. It's a pain to be sure. :meow:

Hi!
Just wondering how you did the stripes down her mane/tail, I've done a couple of OCs which had that and the only way I could work out doing it was to use a matching thread and do a satin stitch over the joins, but obviously that leaves a big stitch going down, which looks fine when I do have a matching thread, but there might come a time when I'm not so fortunate. But yours looks so clean and nice, how did you manage that?!
Don't tell me you did a ladder stitch all the way down! If you did, that must've killed, and took forever!
If that's what you did then.. Wow. That would kill my hands! It looks awesome anyway!

I still have no idea how you did it. It seems like magic.

Do you mean like forcing them to match, like you would for attaching a curve to a straight piece? With lots of clipping and stuff?

It's definitely something I'll have to have a play with, cant seem to picture it in my head.

I couldn't picture it either until I started. But yes, I did have to stop and clip each inner corner whenever I reached them, which is what made it such a pain! :O
