We’ve been lied to before, and sadly, after the last few days of doing a load of research, “Net Neutrality” is basically the new SOPA/PIPA/CISPA re-branded to be in our favor rather than our opposition. A classic example of bait and switch and I fell for it. I’m so sorry. :( Nevertheless, it seemed inevitable: comments.deviantart.com/1/5144…

Unfortunately “Net Neutrality” being practically SOPA on steroids is old news that hasn’t been shared: www.breitbart.com/big-governme…
A recent article (slight language warning): www.punkrocklibertarians.com/s…

But I didn’t stop there. Usually I wouldn’t consider myself a paranoid person, but has anyone heard of a “Smart Meter?” You probably have one on your house by now, we do! But were you ever told what was inside it or how it worked? Let NOT your ignorance continue: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4HsxN…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-F3nf…
Here’s a tear-down of a smart meter: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=…

YES, those videos are long, but at LEAST watch the first one. Feel free to read on before watching, but be context aware. Yes, those seminars are from 2012 in Canada, but it’s clearly happening here in the US and was part of Obama’s stimulus package in 2009: www.reuters.com/article/2009/0… It’s now 2015.

At lease when FEC Electric installed ours, it was a real employee who asked us to turn off sensitive equipment before hand, (so hopefully they knew what they were doing to prevent fires caused by faulty electrical connections via improper installation). QUESTION: Why did they do it in the first place? (The answer is in the videos above not to mention it’s taxpayer supported.)

Believe me, I can certainly understand if this all seems a bit far fetched, but unfortunately the reality is the “smart” devices and appliances already exist. The “smart” fridge was introduced in 1998.
“What Do You Do If Your Refrigerator Begins Sending Malicious Emails?” : www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsi…
Then of course there’s the tracking of your food: www.xgmedia.com/2013/06/the-in…

In the second (longer) video, Jerry mentions the “ZigBee” protocol at 1:04:45 to 1:05:15 that’s also inside smart meters: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-F3nf…
I didn’t have a clue what that was, but lo and behold! You can get a Wi-Fi enabled LED light bulb at Home Depot (which I wouldn’t recommend) right now for only about $15: www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Link-60…
Oh, and notice a ZigBee-compatible hub is a separately sold requirement but here’s a combo deal: www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Link-60…

When I attended UTD, we explicitly designed mock-up interfaces for these things as part of our Interaction Design class: adamlhumphreys.com/gallery/ix_… I now don’t think that was a coincidence. But think, why else make things “smart” other than tracking and selling you goods? Selling you the things that sells their goods, (the Internet as an example)! Take a good look at the lower “Durability” paragraph in the last article “The Internet of Things.” Notice that article used the term “ubiquitous.” Replacing parts when they fail? Buying new ink cartridges/printers, water filters, phones, and especially your $500 smart meter. Does planned obsolesces or consumerism sound familiar? www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfbbF3…
If you disconnect your computer from the Internet it still works, right? What about your fridge, dish washer, or light bulb? Oh wait! They’re connected wirelessly and that doesn’t leave you much choice.

But you don’t have to own a “smart” fridge do you??? It could well be that regular appliances will stay around on account of the fact that you can’t extort much money from people who couldn’t afford a smart fridge. You can vote with your wallet, right? What if it was a requirement? How could that be? Maybe if you wanted health insurance, (Obama “Care” anyone), you might be penalized because they couldn’t track how healthy you were eating. Then they could subsidize the “smart” parts through the profits off your penalties. They could use your own wallet to vote against you, (which I believe is much the case with “Net Neutrality”)! And let’s not forget you’re also being bombarded with microwaves from all these devices to the destruction of your health.

So how is “Net Neutrality” tide to this issue? Take a look: www.takebackyourpower.net/rese…

If this doesn’t alarm you in the least or motivate you to spread this message and linked resources around, I’m sorry, but you’re way too complacent. If you think I’m off my knocker, provide a legitimate argument to explain why. I didn’t used to be so paranoid, but that’s what happens when you connect the dots.

More about this later, unless I’m in some convenient “accident” leading to my death. If you do think this is worth sharing, feel free to copy/paste so you're not linking to only one instance of this journal. Feel free to print if you think the Internet will eventually be next.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention something that's probably understood by most of the general public. You can always reduce RF emissions by covering smart meters, (or whatever else), using metal like steel, foil, or copper.
