I decided to keep a separate running journal for Luna.

Tail is done! :iconraritylaplz: So, there’s been a few changes. I decided to go with AAAs, but I don’t think that’ll be a problem. The EL-wires, which suck the most power, ran for a good 3 hours in my first test using AAs, but they still had a very good charge. Also there’s slightly less EL-wire to be powered (though that’s probably a negligible difference). The LEDs alone will last a lot longer.

And in case anyone was wondering about the battery location... :paranoid:, the only logical and easily concealable location, after a lot of thought, was the rump. :iconshockedlunaplz::iconlunagaspplz::iconlunakiddingmeplz: Why? Well, in her mane it would be top heavy and induce balancing issues; in the tail it would be too heavy to suspend; in a hoof if might induce balancing issues and would be strange to figure out how to enclose it, not to mention you’d have to turn the plush on it’s side to access them, also if they were in her belly with zipper access. I’ve since developed a better method for storing them in the same place, but if you have some ideas for a better location for a future plush, (not that I see myself making a Luna like this ever again :iconrarityissrsplz:), I’d still be glad to hear them. And not to pun, but they were a pain in the rump just to finally figure out even then. :iconrarityfaintplz:

Anyway, the mane is next! :iconrarityishappyplz:

Just showing a quick test of what's working thus far. I still have to make the mane and tail, (and wings, accessories, etc.). :iconrarityfaintplz:

Mane flow/Eye circuit complete. Head stuffed, (and it wasn't easy). Note that her eyes will actually fade up then down at the press of a button. The last pic is her eyes at full brightness. Her eyes have 4 different types of fades. I could've added more and played with the timing indefinitely, but for the sake of my sanity I kept it "simple." :meow:

Also, here's an earlier video of how Luna's stars will work. I've since worked out the button issue. But I'm curious, should the LEDs turn off between modes like it does now, or just switch mid-stream? Please let me know!
