Bulb Collection by adamlhumphreys Bulb Collection by adamlhumphreys
Added 10 more sockets, double what I had before. So the collection itself didnít really grow so much as the display. :D

Yup, various neon bulbs on the right (and other gases). I don't have too many of those, but they are fun. The back row is flowers from someone on eBay who sent me a third one free (and they also came with flower-pot style light sockets). The others globe style ones on the front row came from a couple of gift stores too, so they're not too historically significant. But that star of David I got as new-old-stock, so that was awesome, but it would be sweet to get a known genuine Aerolux bulb though!

Sounds like a good enough reason to make more (not to mention winter is comming up, and I have a feeling it will be harsh here in the states)! :D If only I could find more people like you. An audience for light bulbs and works derived from them. I also plan to try making light bulb plushies! :XD:

So cute!
I am from Italy, so due to EU we can't buy incandescent bulbs any more.
But I still have some, I have them because I am collecting them. I have a lot of already burned out, but some are still able to make light.
But I am no using them. To light up my home, I am using CFLs.
Because they are rare. And damn awesome.
I will light them up only for photos I plan to take for my new group.
Or something similar.

Oh. That’s terrible! I know that we have something similar going on here, where higher wattage bulbs will no longer be bought or sold after the stock is gone. Fortunately though, no one is foolish enough to enforce it here and bulbs are still available. However, I read a little of the bill itself, and decorative/appliance/chandelier bulbs aren’t even affected. But I also don’t use incandescent bulbs for lighting. However, to make them last longer, run them on a lower voltage (you could use a dimmer) and they should last for a very long time. :)

But, can you buy HEATBALLs in Italy? [link] They’re a little different, but... :D
It’s actually a little strange that incandescent bulbs have found a renewed market here, replicating antique style bulbs in a way that I can actually appreciate as a lightbulb collector: [link] I’ve been seeing them on the shelves of stores and behind a store window, hanging up with all these other CFL bulbs. Needless to say, it stands out, and it does look awesome! :)

Um, I don't think, I hear about them, but I still didn't see them in shops.
But I see classic bulbs that was claimed as a bulbs for technical use - with 100 watts :D

Well that’s good! They’re probably “service bulbs.” You can’t really those with CFLs or LEDs. In ovens and microwaves, the incandescent bulb is actually ideal because it doesn’t have any electronics to fail or overheat. :)
