Letter from the Queen

Dear Princess Celestia,
I learned that there is nothing more difficult in this life than admitting I’ve been wrong the entire time. …I write to you an apology of the sincerest kind, with a wholly renewed heart.

Please permit me to digress. From my youth I sought the harm of others as I saw them love and being loved by others while I was left to myself neither receiving nor giving. The holes in my heart grew inward as well as outward. I took on the appearance of those loved to receive it myself, but I never gave it back.

I soon discovered others like me, and later determined to use love’s raw power to overthrow nations to take the love that they never gave to us. … But I was short sighted. We were never loved because we never gave love ourselves.

Then thankfully, that fateful day, love made its greatest triumph over me and my subjects. … But I was still blind. I immediately sought to find the most potent source of it to overthrow your kingdom and every nation of the world. As I’m sure you’ve well realized, I am Chrysalis, former Queen of the Changelings.

Among the ancient books of long ago, I found the greatest example of love that could ever be known. A Man who loved despite being hated by all the world, even today, Who gave Himself as a sacrifice. He made it possible for one’s wrongdoings to be taken away from the annals of recorded time should they be willing to follow Him in righteousness, even to death.

I was awestruck by this love and it compelled me, nay, overthrew me! After careful and heavy consideration, I surrendered myself in compliance to His written Word. The holes of my soul began to fill, and the local townsfolk no longer feared me. Thus I was made as whole as the days of my conception. … But not without consequence.

My subjects now hate me and count me as a traitor. I tried to reason with them and explain myself, but was cast out from among my own people. It was then I began to experience the same treatment as His early followers. But five came to me and sought explanation. Thankfully they remain with me even till now.

Concluding my digression, I ask for your forgiveness, pardon, and if possible, your friendship. I also wish to purchase a place of residence in the town of those who bear the Elements of Harmony that I may likewise seek their friendship if they will have me. If you are wary of my motives, for which I would not blame you, please feel free to examine me.

However, if you or your people wish to judge me and carry out legal due process against my crimes, you are within your right to do so. But please spare the five, as they were not among those who attacked your kingdom. With your permission, I will come as myself.

Update: Chapter 1: A Long Awaited Arrival

Thought I’d do something with a lot more meaning this time. I couldn’t help but wonder what Chrysalis’ next move would be, hoping she might find a purposeful life worth living. So this is my take, mostly written. And I’m sure Chrysalis would receive just as warm a welcome back as Luna did in Season 1.

This is what happens when riding on Interstate 20 and 95 from Bossier, LA to Baltimore, MD. So, round trip, that would be about 40 hours of work.
(Please don’t ask about the harebrained trip that we couldn’t afford, that I didn’t really want to go on, or how close it was to BroNYcon in both time and location. …But nothing bad happened and I picked up up several yards of ultra cuddle. )
